Jeffrey Morgan, chair of the Department of Mathematics, has been honored with a 2004-05 Teaching Excellence Award by the UH Provost’s Office.
Students, faculty, and alumni nominated candidates for nine total awards—six for tenure and tenure-track faculty, one for non-tenure track faculty, and two for teaching assistant and teaching fellow.
In addition to his duties as chair of the math department, Morgan is the director of the Center for Academic Support and Assessment (CASA), which is a computer-based learning and testing facility that opened in 2004 on the UH campus. Among Morgan’s research interests are chemical reaction-diffusion systems, mathematical biology, secondary mathematics education, AP calculus, and technology.
