| Welcome to the College of Natural Sciences
and Mathematics (NSM). NSM has 6 departments: Biology & Biochemistry,
Chemistry, Computer Science, Geosciences, Mathematics,
and Physics. Each of these departments has its own chairperson
or “chair” (head of the department) and group of
advisors. NSM has approximately 27 advisors serving the 6 departments.
Your first point of contact as a student in NSM
is your department advisor. The department advisor will help
you with degree information, questions, problems, disputes,
etc. If an issue cannot be settled at this level, the next
person to contact is your department chair. If the chair cannot
resolve the issue, then the NSM Dean’s Office should
be contacted. If these leave the issue unresolved, you can
contact the Office of the Provost.
